About Ted
A Treasurer for Every Delaware Family
A life shaped by service and responsibility
Ted grew up in a town outside of Chicago where the city meets the cornfields. Early in life, he loved listening to stories from his grandfather, a Navy frogman in World War II. Those stories weren’t about glory but about our shared responsibility to our country.
In first grade, Ted’s dad ran for elected public service. He, his mom, and his three younger brothers saw the impact and sacrifice of that role. While he and his dad don’t agree on policies (like a lot of families), he learned at an early age the ongoing need for competent, honest public leadership.
Those examples of military and public duty inspired him to fly for the Marines in combat, compete for Team USA in the World Championships, and enter the race for Delaware State Treasurer.
Experience grounded in finance
After flying for the Marines and earning an MBA at Wharton, Ted built a career in finance with one simple goal: help people make impactful decisions with their hard-earned savings and plan for the future.
At kitchen tables across Delaware, he’s seen how thoughtful financial management strengthens a family’s future and supports community efforts. Those lessons of working as an experienced investment manager shape his vision for the Treasurer’s job – a careful, hands-on stewardship of Delaware’s financial future.
Focused on the work that matters
The State Treasurer is the state’s investment manager. The office invests retirement funds for public employees, leads key financial programs (like the state’s 529, the EARNS program, and the ABLE plan), and works closely with state boards to support Delaware’s long-term financial future.
Because of his combat, leadership, and investment experiences, Ted is ready – on day one – to stand up to Trump’s policies, fight for a living wage, address affordability issues, and lead the Treasurer’s office.
